Bridge Beam Technical Manual

Shay Murtagh Precast bridge beam technical manual provides guidance for the design of precast, prestressed bridge beams utilising the Eurocodes bridge design specification. The document contains the latest edition of span tables for prestressed precast concrete beam design to the most recent Eurocodes standards.

The purpose of the manual is to:

Provide guidance in design criteria, analysis methods and detailing practices for the preparation of project plans, specifications and cost estimates for bridges and other structures.

The design tool will be a staple to every engineer’s reference library, and while it provides details on beam sizes, beam centres and beam lengths there is also a bridge designer checklist that provides additional guidance on materials on materials and details relevant to prestressed precast concrete bridge beam design.

We at Shay Murtagh Precast have made every effort to make the bridge design manual informative, comprehensive and accurate, while reflecting the most up to date standards and practices for precast prestressed beam design.

The manual is not a legal document. There is no substitute for sound engineering judgement. We would encourage all the users of our manual to submit any comments, corrections, and proposals for new or revised material, in order to keep our manual valid and up to date with the most recent design codes and practices.
