Shay Murtagh – Chairman

Shay Murtagh is Chairman of Shay Murtagh Precast and has over forty years experience in precast concrete manufacture and installation. He has led the company through many changes in product, manufacture process and delivery. He believes in setting high standards and being the leader in our specialist sector. Shay is an expert in precast, pre-stressed and post-tensioned concrete tank manufacture and installation and works closely with all our production and installation crews to continuously evolve and bring effortless customer service and performance to all our projects

Ciaran Murtagh – Managing Director

Ciaran is Managing Director of Shay Murtagh Precast. He has over 20 years experience in the Civil Engineering industry and has been involved in the design, manufacture and installation of many of Shay Murtagh’s contracts. Ciaran is highly involved in the research and innovation of new products and manufacturing techniques within the company and has personally researched and developed the Septec Wastewater Treatment System and Rainman Rainwater Harvesting System from their inception. Ciaran is a graduate of Civil Engineering of Dublin Institute of Technology Bolton St. and Sligo Institute of Technology.

Liam Mcgovern – Contracts Director

Liam is Contracts Director of Shay Murtagh Precast and has worked with the company for twenty five years. Over this period he has seen the company grow from less than 10, to over 180 employees. Liam is a graduate of Dublin Institute of Technology, Bolton Street and has over 30 years experience in the Civil Engineering Industry. Liam’s specialism lies in his attention to detail and unparalleled problem solving capabilities, and these skills have been instrumental in the design and construction of many commercial and infrastructure projects throughout Ireland and the UK.

Robert Fitzsimons – Production Design Manager

Robert currently heads up production design within the company. Throughout his studies, Robert worked within Shay Murtagh’s and he returned to the Company just over five years ago. Robert graduated from Dublin Institute of Technology, Bolton Street with his Diploma in Civil Engineering, and went on and completed his bachelor’s degree in Heriott Watt University Edinburgh in Civil and Environmental Engineering. Robert has since worked in England, Scotland and Ireland gaining over a decade of experience on numerous large civil engineering projects; including gas, infrastructure, water and waste water.

Steve Lowe – Senior Design Engineer

Steve is Senior Design Engineer with Shay Murtagh Precast and is the head of our design team. Steve graduated with a B.S in Civil from Texas A&M University and completed his education at the University of Cambridge where he achieved a Master of Philosophy in Bridge Engineering. He has over seventeen years of industry experience, gained with a number of Ireland’s most prestigious engineering practices before coming joining the Shay Murtagh Team. Steve’s vast experience and expertise within the many tiers of civil engineering design is vital in ensuring that all our products are designed to the most exacting standards

Jim Leavy – Senior Structural Engineer

Jim is a Senior Structural Engineer and joined the Shay Murtagh Precast design team in early 2010. Jim is a fully chartered engineer and qualified with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Queens University in Belfast. Jim brings a wealth of civil engineering expertise to the Shay Murtagh team, and has over 12 years of Industry experience, gained with a number of Ireland’s leading building developers and contractors before joining Shay Murtagh Precast. Jim’s vast experience and expertise within the many tiers of civil engineering design is vital in ensuring that all our products are designed and produced to the most exacting standards within our industry.

Michael Concannon – Managing Estimator

Michael has worked in the concrete industry for over ten years. He graduated from Sligo Institute of Technology with a degree in Quantity Surveying. He has extensive knowledge of cost basis for manufacture which gives our Client base the highest quality product at a reasonable and proved cost. Managing a large team he delivers and exceeds the expectations of our wide client base with his understanding and knowledge for off-site solutions and bespoke applications.

William McGovern – Senior Quantity Surveyor

William is a Senior Quantity Surveyor with Shay Murtagh Precast. He has created a working relationship with many of our Key Accounts. Working with Michael and the other team members he has brought to fruition many key projects from tender stages. William has worked with the company during his college years and is a graduate in Construction Economics and Management from DIT Bolton Street and he also holds a Masters in Management from Smurfit Business School in University College Dublin.

Jim Buckley – Financial Controller

Jim is working in company accounts for over 25 years and holds a Batchelor of Commerce from University College Dublin. He has worked with Shay Murtagh’s for the last fifteen years. He runs an efficient accounts team which produce thorough costings and up to date numbers.

Maria Keoghan – Customer Service Administrator

Maria works in our Accounts Department and is the Customer Service Administrator. With over 8 years experience in accounts administration she ensures that all our Clients get immediate and satisfactory correspondence on any accounts related queries.

Helen Hughes – Front Office Administrator

Helen works at front of house and is the first person all our Clients speak to. With efficient and precise professionalism she delivers our Clients to their required Department or Person and has a working knowledge of all in progress projects. A graduate from Dundalk Institute of Technology with a Degree in Building Surveying she also co-ordinates the Service Department for Septec and Rainman products.

Oliver McLoughlin – Quality Manager

Oliver is responsible for the co-ordination of the Quality Assurance and Quality Control functions within Shay Murtagh Precast. He graduated from IT Sligo in 2001 with a BSC. in Quality Management and has gained extensive experience within the precast concrete industry as well as having worked for main contractors on major civil engineering projects in Ireland and the UK.

Vivienne Murtagh – Health & Safety

Graduating with a Degree in Health and Safety Management from Sligo Institute of Technology, Vivienne enforces a rigorous health and safety mindset. She coordinates our OHSAS 1800 Health and Safety Management System with every member of staff. She is a qualified manual-handling instructor and has regular tool box talks on a range of applicable topics.

Catherine Smyth – Integrated Management System Controller

Setting standard within the Concrete Industry is a team event. Catherine heads up this team. Joining the Company in 1992 she has brought to fruition our Quality Management System, our Environmental Management System and finally our Health and Safety Management System. Then integrated them. She coordinates with each department and sets high goals each year to achieve the best possible standards.
