Garth Brooks Inspired Hard Hats Instead of Stetsons

On Saturday last – July 12th Shay Murtagh Precast hosted a unique charity event.

With the excitement around the concerts of country and western star Garth Brooks in Dublin at the end of July, Killucan/Raharney St Vincent De Paul collaborated with Shay Murtagh Precast in doing a different kind of fundraiser.

The aim to bring community involvement into something fun and memorable, so it was agreed that we would try to bring as many people together to line dance to Wagon Wheel.  Three practice sessions were held in the assembly hall of the local secondary school with great attendance and while the day didn’t bring the best weather, spirits were high and the chorus “Rock me Mama like a Wagon Wheel” was sung loudly.

We filmed the event and today as the concerts have now been cancelled due to planning issues, the fundraiser lives on, released today – Hard Hats instead of Stetsons.

Special thanks to the community of Killucan/Raharney, the team of Shay Murtagh Precast along with their friends and families, Nuala Weir our line dancing teacher along with her team/family of Patricia, Ciara, Aisha and Feargal who got us all the moves to the Electric Slide!
