Quality Concrete

At Shay Murtagh Precast, we believe that product quality is paramount and a key part of our relationship with clients. As a company we strive on exceeding the quality of our manufactured precast and prestressed quality concrete products, and on all our customers’ expectations.

In 1992 Shay Murtagh Precast achieved ISO 9001 certification and is annually audited by an external examiner from the National Standards Authority of Ireland. This ensures the Quality Management System is continuously improving and compliant with the International Quality Standard, which promotes; Customer Satisfaction, Staff Motivation and Continual Improvement. The Quality Management System is continuously reviewed, improved and updated in accordance with ISO 10005:2005.

In 2008 Shay Murtagh Precast became I.S EN 206-1: 2002 ‘Concrete – Part 1: Specification, Performance, Production and Conformity’ certified. Compliance with EN 206 ensures concrete is produced to the highest standards. In-house and external testing of the concrete produced is an imperative part of the production process ensuring concrete is produced to customer specification. Further completing the suite in July 2013 CE Marking of construction products covered by harmonised European Standards became mandatory in the UK and Ireland. In 2013 Shay Murtagh Precast became CE Mark certified for all relevant precast concrete products.

Shay Murtagh Precast concrete products are thoroughly checked at each stage of production by qualified and highly competent civil engineers. Checks are documented on relevant pre-pour and post-pour work. Robust Inspection and Test Plans are implemented to ensure compliance with project specifications and customer satisfaction and all aggregates are sourced on-site and are rigorously tested in accordance with I.S. EN 12620 and in compliance with CE Marking.
