About the Project
In early 2010 Glan Agua Ltd. completed the contract signing for the Roscommon GWS DBO & Galway GWS DBO Bundle No. 2. This contract involved ‘Design, Build and Operation’ of eight Water Treatment Plants in Roscommon and a further 16 Water Treatment Plants in County Galway.
The Design-Build Works involved process design and mechanical and Electric installations of all of the above Water Treatment Plants in County Roscommon and County Galway. Consulting Engineers TJ O’ Connor & Associates were the client's representatives for Roscommon bundle and Ryan Hanley & Co. were clients representatives for the Galway Bundle.
Water Storage
Glan Agua Ltd sister company and civil engineering wing MEIC Ltd were to undertake all the site Civil works for both projects. Following a tendering and negotiation process, Shay Murtagh Ltd was awarded the substantial contract for the supplied manufacture and construction of all potable water storage reservoir infrastructure for both projects.
In total, the contract entailed six structures in Roscommon with a total capacity of 8,750 cubic metres and thirteen structures in Galway with a total of 10,250 cubic metres.
