Tip Wall, Sierra Leone

Geosystems provided a HexLok solution to Dawnus Construction for the Tonkalili Iron Ore mine in Sierra Leone. In 2010 Dawnus commenced a series of projects for Africa Minerals (AML) including roads, foundations and related infrastructure for the facility and crushing plant. Geosystems designed and manufactured two HexLok reinforced soil tip walls.

The first composite concrete wall at 16M high was designed to support the 250Tonne CAT 785C dump trucks and the 125Tonne CAT 992 loading shovels as they tipped their run of mine payloads into the primary crusher below and in front of the wall. Following the success of this project the second composite concrete tip wall was commissioned adjacent to the first.
