As part of the Castlemartyr Waste Water Treatment Works Upgrade for EPS, Shay Murtagh Ltd were tasked with the design, manufacture and installation of an Aeration Tank. Base dimension of the tank is 21.4m by 14.1m with a panel height of 6.5m. Some of the panels weight in excess of 18t.
A total of 53no. wall panels were used to complete the tank structure with an additional 22no. walkways also being installed. The tank is held together using 15.7mm hight tension strands which are running in both directions. The stands were grouted and tensioned to 194Kn.
Once tensioned an additional sealing coat was applied to all vertical joints.
