Arklow has been highlighted by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as an area of concern due to the discharge of untreated wastewater into the Avoca River. Such practices have long-term detrimental effects on local ecosystems and public health. Uisce Éireann, in partnership with Wicklow County Council, has committed to rectifying this issue by constructing a modern wastewater treatment facility capable of accommodating the needs of up to 36,000 PE (population equivalent).
Our collaboration with Ward and Burke, alongside Wicklow Co Co and Uisce Eireann, involved the manufacture, delivery, and installation of 2 no. Picket Fence Thickener tanks. These tanks are crucial components of the wastewater treatment process, designed to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the plant.
