Introduction to Park Farm Bridge Scotland

Shay Murtagh Precast were contracted by Morgan Sindall to manufacture and deliver a number of precasting concrete Bridge Beams units to for the reconstruction of Park Farm Bridge Scotland in Linlithgow. Park Farm Bridge Scotland. One of a series of bridges rebuilt as part of the Edinburgh Glasgow Improvement Programme (EGIP). A Scottish Government funded investment worth £742m. EGIP is delivering a rolling programme of electrification across the central belt of Scotland to reduce journey times. To increase capacity on routes by improving the infrastructure.

Shay Murtagh Precast manufactured a number of precasting concrete units, including

  • 2 Cill Beams 5.35M in length, 12.5 Tonne each
  • East & West Parapets 10.9M in length, 36.6 Tonne each
  • 3 MY2 Beams 9.8M in Length, 4.53 Tonne each

Shay Murtagh Precast manufactured the units over a 3-week period and a trial assembly took place in the factory. On the 28th January before our highly skilled logistics team transported the units to Linlithgow to schedule. The reconstructed bridge re-opened to the public on the 15th April 2016. We congratulate the team at Morgan Sindall on another successful project completion and look forward to our next project together.
