Middlesbrough is a hotbed of digital tech innovation, home to digital leaders across various sub-sectors.
The Boho Zone is Middlesbrough’s digital and creative quarter, and the beating heart of the Tees Valley’s digital tech offer. Since the formation of the zone in 2009, with the opening of flagship building, Boho One, The Boho Zone has been a home to hundreds of digital tech companies, and two accelerator programmes.
Middlesbrough’s key digital strength lies in the community that has been developed over the past 20+ years, with an array of community-led events and activities that support the cohesive approach in which the sector operates, including: Animex, Game Bridge, Middlesbrough Front End, Refresh Teesside, and the Tees Tech Awards.
The Boho Zone currently offers a mix of commercial office space, live-work space, and residential space, across 11 separate buildings. This collective offering has been made possible through public and private sector buy-in to support the advancement of the digital sector in Middlesbrough.
Our Evans by Shay Murtagh team recently completed a hard landscaping units project for the creative quarter.
Boho X is the most recent addition to The Boho Zone, with work on the 60,000 square foot office space being completed along with our hard landscaping units in June 2023.
